Prevention is a Lifestyle

…And an intentional choice. Every day, we choose what goes into our bodies and how much. We determine our activity level and our rest level. Maintaining health is a balancing act.

So it is with chemical substances. There are some that are safe at certain times and in certain amounts – medicine prescribed by your physician is an example. There are some that are unsafe at any time and in any amount – they act like a poison to the human body.

We are given one body and one lifetime. It is up to us to take care of that gift. We can educate ourselves, we can support healthy lifestyles and we can work to ensure our surroundings make it easy to make the appropriate choices.

Celebrate Red Ribbon Week 2010, dedicated to raising awareness of prevent substance abuse. Take charge or your life and your community – let’s support our children and our neighbors. Find out what you can do from the staff at the Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati.
